New facilities


The VCU Rice Rivers Center Research Facility opened in October 2021 to support river and wetland research.

The 615,000 square foot VCU Health Adult Outpatient Pavilion opened on the VCU Health campus in December 2021.


New awards and recognitions

Successfully completed The Joint Commission three-year accreditation for VCU Medical Center in Feb. 2022.

VCU Medical Center recognized by Newsweek as one of the Best Maternity Hospitals 2022.

VCU Medical Center achieved top grades on the Lown Institute ranking of the most socially responsible hospitals in America in 2022.

VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital received highest ratings for safety from The Leapfrog Group.
