Bridging Richmond

VCU has been a proud supporter of and partner in the Bridging Richmond program since its inception in 2009.

Bridging Richmond is a partnership among VCU and a number of other educational, corporate, and civic and philanthropic organizations to help young people in Richmond achieve their educational goals. Over the past year, VCU has supported the Richmond’s Promise Neighborhood initiative of Bridging Richmond and has brought more families into the program and analyzed the needs of various neighborhoods.

VCU also helped initiate the first two phases of a shared data system, with CIS of Richmond serving as the fiscal agent and VCU as the neutral data manager. The outcome of this work will be a strategic plan that offers students and families an identifiable pathway to opportunity supported by community partners and resources to chart success.
